Another successful year at Gilwell 24, shared with Brocks Unit and the Bedfordshire Jamboree Contingent
The Usual 200++ activities were laid on, little or no sleep was had by all, and – in between the rain showers – much fun.
We sent a leader to the Bushcraft Zone for a day. Chopping, cutting, whittling, lighting, striking, brewing and lots more went on
If you look carefully, you will see the Chief Commissioner, Wayne Bullpitt who is looking at David cooking a sausage on a £1.99 Ikea cutlery drainer converted to a bushcraft stove with 3 tent pegs, some scrap metal bolts and a pair of tin snips… A picture of which is on the Flickr pages here:
Overall a great day for Explorers and our leaders (even if a vital piece of kit was apparently “borrowed” by a passer-by in a not-very-Scout-Law way
)
